The Appraisal Process
The appraisal process, provided under most policies, allows the vehicle owner and their insurer to each choose an appraiser and umpire to arrive at an agreement on the amount of loss.

If you are not aware of this provision provided under your auto policy you may be settling your damage claim without entirely exercising your rights.

If there is a dispute over the value of the loss to your vehicle, most policies allow for the vehicle owner to demand the appraisal process.
